More sketches...

Back to sketching outdoors again feels great - like exercising new muscles.  I suspect, as in painting, this can also be called sketching plein aire.

New Painting Material

Recently retired I'm out scouting around for new painting ideas and material.  Before retiring I took a new look at the University of Connecticut where I worked and found these stone steps that look more like something in Tuscany.  It always amazes me how you can look at something and not see what's right in front of you all along!

Smell of Wild Raisins

Foray into White and Green Mountains (New Hampshire and Vermont respectively) has produced some lovely new sketches to work from in the studio.

The air is thick with the smell of Wild Raisins.  Some say they have an unpleasant scent so I may have the wrong name, otherwise known as Witherod, or perhaps the unpleasant scent is in Spring when blooming.
